Men's Soccer Loses Tournament Match Against Local Rival
The Terra State Titans closed out their 2025 men’s soccer season on Tuesday with a hard-fought match against Owens Community College, falling 7–0 to the Region 12 champions.
Owens showed why they’ve been one of the top programs in the region, controlling possession and outshooting the Titans 28–5. Despite the pressure, Terra State goalkeeper Luke Avers delivered an outstanding performance, recording 15 saves to keep the Titans within reach for a duration of the match.
The Titans battled through a short roster due to injuries, but showed grit and improvement as the game went on, playing a more organized and composed second half. Terra State managed two shots on goal, continuing to push forward and compete until the final whistle.
“We were short on numbers, but the guys gave everything they had,” said Head Coach Andrew Chwalik. “Owens is a quality side, and they earned their spot at the top of the region and league. I’m proud of how our group fought to the end.”
The loss ends the Titans’ 2025 season, one marked by growth, perseverance, and progress as the program continues to build its foundation in NJCAA Region 12 competition. Owens will advance to the next round of the tournament, representing the region in postseason play.
Terra State will now turn its focus to the offseason, with plans to build depth, recover from injuries, and prepare for another competitive campaign next year.
